Jdilius, I have been with the nova since version one. As much as we would all like things to be " plug and play", they arent. Vivi's just like most other PV equipment will sometimes need tinkering. There ARE right and wrong ways to use EVERYTHING.

All we can do is try to help you. I myself have used all the atty heads in a variety of ohms and 3.7v on a 2.8ohm head with a vmax is too high. Also the coils do sometimes need to be adjusted. I leave all my wicks long, and use 100% vg juice and havent had one issue with a vivi head since ver2.5. I simply run 3.2ohm heads now.

You can try what I posted or just discard it as it seems you have, Its up to you. Good luck.

Here is a pretty decent video that PBusardo just released. Many of the Nova lots out there have terrible coils on them and wicks that are just too thin. If your interested in waking up that Nove of yours, take a look at his recommendation. Pictures (or video) is the best way to explain things. I have rewicked my Nova heads for a while now, and the difference is pretty huge. Mine are v1s.

This is not a clone. It is a Vivi Nova 2.5 with long wicks, shorter center post, and vent holes above the threads. There is no right or wrong way to use it. You add juice and screw it it onto your PV. Not really rocket science! I have tried all 3 heads, PG Jucie, VG Juice, and I have trimmed the wicks. I also rebuilt one of the heads! The result is the same!

Hey buddy....just for giggles try it again at 3 volts. If you still taste burnt juice take it off and put it on a either a truly boosted VV device or a 3.7v device like a eGo twist or a Bolt....see if you get the same outcome. I vape a 2.8-3.0Ω Fusion carto all day at 3 volts and it still rocks.

I have noticed with 1 of my juices I have to use my Vivi mini on a true boost VV device with the 2.8 or 3.2Ω head or the 1.8-2.0Ω head with a mechanical 3.7 volt device like a bolt or a regular 900maH eGo. Totally different result from the Vmax to the other device with "that particular juice". Give it a shot.....can't hurt right...?......Good luck, PM me if you need any additional info or help.

After getting the Penelope it's real hard to use anything else now that has significantly less flavor/vapor production. I thought I had tasted as good as my juices could get with the Fusions. Then I got a Penelope. I use to use ST 2 & 3Ω DC.....not any more. I just can't do it,they just don't have near the flavor of the Penny or the Fusions.....from here out it's my girl Penny and my trusty reliable's (Fusions) till something comes out to surpass the Penny and I probably still won't leave her.....it's just too easy to setup and with no issues or errors or "I have to fine tune it and fix this coil or short to get it perfect". NO MORE....it's tooo easy!!!

What about the Boge 510 cartos?

Honestly DW a close friend of mine sent me a 5 pack of the Boge 510's from 8 months ago when they bought 100 bricks trying to sway me back from the Fusion side of things and get me on 510's again. I took 1 new 510 and 1 new Fusion and filled them up with "my" RY4 from gourmet vapor which is my all day'r. The Fusion lasted 3 almost 4 days then to the trash.....the 510 lasted till that same day at the end of the night. No kidding. 1 day. Now it may and probably is just a juice or my juice that the cartos react that way but never-the-less it did. To me with this particular juice and the 3 others I use the Fusions just taste better...vape better...nicer draw (that I can adjust if I want), great vapor, and the perfect kinda TH that I really prefer. Why are they different ? ....I have a theory....but really don't know...don't care. Their just better to me. I 'think' a few other people might say the same.

I will tell ya this. I sent him a box of Fusions for him to do the same thing I did and then tell me what he thought...this was the deal. I got a email from him 3 days ago.....this is basically what it said (cliffnotes) actually I'll just keep it short and give you the last sentence that was right before a pic of his hand and wonderfully popular middle finger sticking up. And I quote..."SO WHAT THE HE// AM i SUPPOSE TO DO WITH ALL THESE 510'S" ....unquote. All I can say is until you do the same thing I did and have done in the past and tell anyone else inquiring the same thing to do, then you might see what I mean. But like I said...it might just be my juice. Take care folks, and whatever your using I hope it works GREAT for ya.

I run Smok 1.4 ohm dual coils (sold as 1.5, but allways turn out to be 1.4) in a DCT at 6 volt.

Great vape, but they don't last long at 6 volts :)

Basically all coils start out .2Ω lower than sold as. If you meter a 3Ω Boge it will be 2.8Ω. A 2Ω , 1.8Ω, etc... This is designed and intended this way. If you look on your carto/atty boxes you'll see this [ 3.0Ω +/- .2Ω ] What this means is the coil can and will be at some point .2Ω lower or higher than 3.0Ω.

Now the more you use that 2.8Ω coil it will start slowly raising in resistance due to the coil stretching and contracting due to heat and gaining a bit of resistance due to the amount of gunk built up on the coils because of the sugars caramelizing that are in the Pg and Vg. All the gunk adds resistance of the electrical current flowing thru the Nichrome or Kanthal wire we use as a heating element. Next time you change to a fresh carto (as they are the most notorious for this behavior) check the resistance before filling it....then later that night or the next day, check it again. Of course how much it changes may depend on Vg/Pg ratio or added sweetener, or even what percentage of flavoring is/was used in your juice. The more flavoring the more gunk, same with added sweetener and/or Vg/Pg. Vg does usually gunk it up more and faster because it is a glycerin based sugar.

Well that's all....hope a newbie maybe learned something here. Take care everyone.

The only other thing I've heard some folks doing is... if you have the dual air holes in the base... breaking a toothpick off in one of the holes. The one I'm using now didn't have these holes and had a single short wick. I'll have to break out the 'Rasti' version and try it.

Have you ever tried an Orion 2.1?

I have had a couple of different genesis and different rebuildable atty's, and the Orion 2.1 is lightyears ahead of everything else I've tried as far as flavour goes.

Actually I haven't tried that yet but have heard many many good things about the flavor it produces. Maybe I'll get a chance to try 1 at vapercon. I really like the fact that it now uses a top side push button....I can't stand bottom pinky crap buttons, just my preference I guess. I'll probably NEVER own 1 as I just refuse to pay more for a mod than I do for my 2012 Cadillac CTS-V coupe or my new built home. I just can't justify the means. I quit smoking for "2" reasons....1, to live longer....2, to "SAVE" MONEY, not spend more even if it does save my life. I love money too much. I work hard at a great career that I love and I like nice things. Gimme my V/Zmax, my Penelope and my 1000mL bottle of my RY4 and I'm good for 6 months.
I see the prices on the classies for some of these devices and it honestly makes me want to puke. I can't believe a fellow American and more-so a fellow vapor would ask $400-$500 bucks for a tube of steel with a clear tube on it that is soooo simple to make and do it with a clear conscience all in the name of making over 100% profit.

I apologize in advance if this post affends anyone but I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it. THIS IS STRICTLY 'MY OPINION' which I believe I'm entitled to.

Take care everyone....and no matter what device your using......KEEP USING IT!!!

Is this the stock holders thread for the Vivi Nova Corporation? Seems like I hit a nerve with some of you VIVI users! First of all, I haven't discarded anyone's help or opinion about anything. This is the first time that I saw your post.

Allow me to elaborate a little more on my trials and tribulations with the Vivi. In my original post I stated that I was vaping the 2.8 Head at 3.7v. This (for me) is actually quite a nice vape (If the atomizer is wet)! The problem is with the wicking of this unit! The terrible burnt choking taste that I am getting, only occurs when I don't turn the thing upside down, prior to taking my next hit. Being that the Vmax is a VV device, I did try lowering all the way down to 3.0v. The result was the same, if I didn't turn it upside down first, I would still end up gagging on the absolute terrible taste of a dry Atomizer!

I actually really like the Vivi when I get a good hit from it! I don't mind some tinkering around (I'll Check Pbsuardo's video out) but I have a lot of stuff going on in my life, which doesn't allow me endless hours to play around with PV Peripherals.

While I like my short wick V2.5 what you just said is probably why my 'Rasti' version (long, multiple wicks) is still in the box. ;-)
