Title says it all, this mod has the potential of being the hottest device on the market, but Smoktech is making vendors sell for $128. Many vendors have been put off by this as they're unable to compete and potentially not sell off their batch. To me this will hurt this mod. If this mod was in the $80 price range sales would be outrageous. Personally, out of the 30+ people I've converted this was near their price point for making the switch to vaping. As a hobbiest myself why would I spend nearly $130 when I could throw down a little more for a Provari or for half the price get two of the new Lavatubes once they arrive? Just a shame as from all of the reviews from trusted friends this mod rocks!

Bingo! They cost suppliers about $40. A price point of $80 to $99 would be perfect and they would sell like crazy. I paid $159 for my Provari. Why would anyone pay $128 for a Vmax? Sure, it probably rocks, but no way will it be of the same quality as a Provari. Their reps whom I have spoken to, insist that it's "better" than a Provari. Somehow, from what I've seen of Chinese quality, I seriously doubt that. But who knows? It may one day with future releases, improve quality wise etc to the point where it can compete, but I don't think that day is now. Not at $128.

We'll have to wait and see, but if it's just 128 for the body only, yeah, that's a bit steep... But if vendors are allowed to package it out, and still keep that 128 price point, I'd pay 128 for a vmaxx, 2 sets of batteries, a charger, and a 5 pack of boges.... As a package deal, that's quite fair, and I'd pay that and not think twice about it... That would put it right in the ballpark of an infinity pro... Depending on how it stacks up against the new lavatube, I might go that route... Waiting for the first wave to hit, hopefully get some early reviews and then I'll be ordering a new lavatube or vmaxx... Cancelled my SS VTube from apollo as these new devices sound awesome...

Here's what will happen Smoktech probably has a factory building these units for them and have given exclusive rights to Smoktech, the factory will unleash this mod to all vendors in a month. Same thing happened to volcano with the lava tube.

That's not entirely correct. Volcano had a contract that either expired or was not honored then lrider offered the product to all usa vendors but could not use the name that volcano used (lavatube)

Prediction: Smoktech will enjoy their ability to regulate price only for a brief while. They have no unique product, just a particularly nice rendering of battery tube mated with common unpatentable electronics. Rest assured that other APVs which are of equal desirability are in development currently by competitors who are overjoyed by the huge price hole Smoketech has created with their $128 floor. Gonna be a good year to be a vaper :) !

Agreed, I way overspend on PVs (own a 901, 510, ego with around 5-6 batteries, epower, mako maksi, and a volcano vv) and there's no way I'd jump on this until the price is far lower. I figured the Volcano VV would create a huge drop in prices, and while it hasn't done that yet, I know there's a lot of peoplpe just waiting for them to get cheaper first.

You've got that right, very well put. Remember when box mods were overpriced?

If this thing is as good as the early reviews indicate, I don't think $128 is too high a price. That's about what I paid for my Buzz Pro. And it's easy to call "Chinese crap", but remember iPhones and iPads come from China too. The Chinese can make very high quality products, it's all what the person contracting the factory to make the product wants to spend on manufacturing. That being said, I much prefer to spend a little more and buy American made products. But if I were in the market, this product looks tempting.

I said that before...maybe under priced.....this is for someone who wants true power only a small percentage of us vapers want this type of power. For most an ego is enough. If you want to run duals at 6 volts sounds like this is a mod for us
