Came from martinc and a reliable source apparently.

I own a Provari, a Vmax and I'll have a Zmax in a couple of days.
They all have their merits - the Vmax is a "beast" and the Provari is known for it's reliabilty and build quality.

They all do the same thing give or take - especially when you factor in variances in voltage readings.
None of us likes having their parade rained on.

Well, that could mean anything. Only ST really know the failure rate and as nice a chap that Martin is I'm skeptical they would divulge such information to him. It's possible that is one particular vendor's failure rate and even this would be inaccurate as it doesn't speak to the entire production runs, version changes, different batches manufactured at different times, etc.
Anyone could just make up a number without solid factual data.

Yeah probably.

Always kind of curious about all the revisions though.

Thank You Dirk! I do have to AGREE with you as far as BUILD, QUALITY, and DURABILITY with the Provari! It is HANDS DOWN the BEST QUALITY made VV device on the vaping Market and I must admit that if Smoktech would just concentrate on one particular device then the quality issues would be resolved! As far as the ZMAX is concerned, I received mine yesterday and I also have a friend of mine's Provari and the ZMAX OUT PERFORMS the Provari and even my friend FREELY admitted that, but then comes the issue of build, quality, durability, and also longevity! The build and quality of the ZMAX is solid, but the question is the durability and longevity of the ZMAX, which remains to be seen! I, as well as MANY others hope that Smoktech actually concentrates on this device because it is very promising!

If there is a capacitor to buffer the output there will be residual energy in the capacitor that will continue to fire the carto for a fraction of a second before it stops. Not sure if that is the reason but it is one explanation.

Well it's a nice logical theory but it's not the reason. It's as simple as the coils reaching such a high temp that when you lift off the fire button it takes a sec for the coils to drop from such a high temp, in that time you can still here your coils/juice sizzling/crackling. That's it.....NOTHING MORE,..NOTHING LESS. Why people are making this such a big deal and still even talking about it I'll never know. This same thing has been happening since the 1st day we started vaping anything about a 510 stick battery and above 3.7 volts, they just didn't have either enough observation to notice or didn't have a good reason to try and discredit the device they were using for their "review".

Well I'm very glad to hear that the Zmax is good because I'll have mine on Thursday.
I think I'll make my own judgement call on whether it's a better device than the Provari - maybe I'll like it just a much.

It's not a competition, you know - no demeaning of devices is necessary on our parts.

As long as they keep you off the stinkies, etc.

I'm looking at my (please excuse) 18350 nipple top Efests next to black/red Vmax 18350s, they appear the same length.
I even questioned that in regards to the 18350 IMR's that AAV carries because I have the Efest 18350 Flat Tops and they DO NOT work, but Kenny an employee there said that the 18350 IMR's they carry do! I even asked them does the battery cap screw on all the way and they said yes!

My expensive American device does the same thing - residual heat left over from the vape.

It wasn't a review in my opinion.
