Well I'm very glad to hear that the Zmax is good because I'll have mine on Thursday.
I think I'll make my own judgement call on whether it's a better device than the Provari - maybe I'll like it just a much.

It's not a competition, you know - no demeaning of devices is necessary on our parts.

As long as they keep you off the stinkies, etc.
As you stated before bro, BOTH devices have their good merits! I just hope that Smoktech takes the time to focus on this one, IF there are any issues!

Let me help you all with 1 more thing free of charge......lol

STOP CRANKING DOWN YOUR ATTY'S and CARTO'S ON ANY DEVICE !!!!!!!

Your not suppose to in the 1st place !! YOU are your own worse enemy in this case. 99% of issue is "USER ERROR". You should ONLY screw your atty's down till you feel resistance.....then maybe at most a 16th of a turn further. I've NEVER had 1 issue with even 1 of my devices with the threads, positive pole, pole gasket etc... if you have it's because "YOUR" CRANKING YOUR ATTY DOWN WAY TOO MUCH WAY TOO FAR !!!
These are ecigs not freakin' galvanized 3/4" nuts and bolts.

I can only hope EVERY vaper alive reads this at some point. Take care. And STOP screwin' your crap down so hard....Jeese.

I even questioned that in regards to the 18350 IMR's that AAV carries because I have the Efest 18350 Flat Tops and they DO NOT work, but Kenny an employee there said that the 18350 IMR's they carry do! I even asked them does the battery cap screw on all the way and they said yes!
It scares me to think that the cap is sooo close to bottoming out. I will be checking just how much room is left as I screw it down. I am more interested with using 18650s with the Z as I have 4 of them 18650 2250 mah Panny hybrids

So do some of you folks have both types of Efest 18350s and if so how much longer are the button tops than the flat tops?

Just the 1.5mm button is the ONLY difference between the 2. I use 1 flat and 1 button in the V/Zmax. The button is the only added length. The battery is the exact same from 1 to the next, just one has a flat positive plate, the other has a buttton. That's it.

Well I went and picked one up earlier, so I took the day off because ya I do it like that. Keep in mind this is my 2nd e cig device, and I've only been vaping for just over a week.

First off, I'm not particularly happy about the confusion concerning the warranty.

I received AAV's flat top 18350 batteries (2) with the device. Apparently those can be stacked (I know nothing about stacking batteries), and they say I could also use the AW IMR 18650 2000mAh high drain batteries I got from Provape. We'll see how that goes.

One of the 18350's came fully charged, the other is charging now. Interesting. I have not put any batteries in the ZMax yet.

First impressions: This is a great looking PV. It's about half an inch longer than my standard ProVari w/ extension cap. ZMax weighs 3.2 ounces w/o battery. They feel very similar in my hand (weight-wise). The chrome is nice. I would have bought a chrome Provari had they not been discontinued, so I'm glad this was chrome. They look really good together. Very similar designs. I feel like if left alone for extended periods of time they will mate at some point, releasing unto the world some sort of interracial super mod, one with extreme durability and reliability, combined with precise VW settings and beastly-ness.

Some pictures below and that's it for now, until I get the batteries in in a few minutes:

The 18650 allows the cap to screw on completely.

2 "no name" 18350 800mAh 3.7v batteries provided by AAV

As you see below, the stacked 18350's that AAV provided do not allow the end cap to screw on completely.

For this reason, I have not yet vaped out of the ZMax. I need to get this warranty business straightened out then figure out why they thought it was ok to let me leave with batteries that did not fit my device properly because they didn't have 18650's in stock and didn't have the extender cap that is supposed to be "coming soon". I've had a very good experience with AAV to this point, and I love helping the local shop that's 10 minutes from my house, so hopefully they can offer an explanation and a battery and an extender cap sometime soon.

Went ahead and put my tank on. This thing vapes like a champ. I don't feel like I'm holding perfection like I do with my Provari, but thing thing could make a superb backup if it wasn't for the cap/battery issue.

Somebody mentioned it continuing to fire for a half second or so after I let go... Yes. Yes it does.
