I'll be taking down my pictures and video, re-considering returning the zmax (even though I really really like it) and considering seeking a new vendor, all because of the bias. Keep the bias away from me.

I wish you hadn't. I have a provari and a zmax on the way. I appreciate the comparison.

What I really want is a picture of the zmax next to a regular and a mini provari, preferably without extension caps.. Knowing it is longer makes me think maybe I would get rid of my full size provari for a mini and use the zmax where carrying was easier...like home.

does it remembers the setings?
someone posted that it does, but last night the guy from vplive during his "review" stated that i doesnt.

so whats the truth?

The guy from Vplive really doesn't know anything about the Vmax the Zmax or anything Smoktech device realated other than what he read from the instruction manual.....he's a provari and darwin worshiper. No offense. But true. Very bais.

It's definitely hitting the spot so far without any downsides as far as I can tell.

Dirk, how would you describe the quality of the end cap threads on the Z?

They're a little bit shallow so getting the end cap on is a task - no squeaking though.
They have to be good for the chroming process.

*edit*

Comparing it to my broken steel Vmax, it's exactly the same tube and end cap so the threads would be identical also.

The only difference is that the board must be a tad longer, can't see a ground wire also -the board must be ground directly to the tube somehow. This is a much better arrangement than the wire ground on the Vmax as it was a weak point.

If combine this with the new board button plus new supplier for the electronics then you're on a winner.

The whole thing performs really well and feels very solid.

Don't know how you can worship something that looks like a laptop battery.

Here is the latest VPLive talking about the Zmax after showing Monkey's review. I am just the messenger ;)

VPLive Vape Team Episode #40: Hot Pocket - YouTube

I do hate the rounded endcaps and the wobblyness. The first one to craft an aftermarket flat cap will be rich. I wish I had the cnc shop that lives in my head :)

13 watts with a 2.7?ohm carto... that ok?

It's weird, Zmax has been giving me readings on this cartomizer anywhere from 2.3ohm to 2.7 ohm. I wonder what I am doing to cause that.

If you can handle 13 watts it's fine. At 13 watts you are running at 5.9 volts but at only 2.19 amps of current so you are totally safe. I would think you are cooking that juice though. My sweet spot is around 8 1/2 watts on a Provari. The Zmax runs hotter so I would start at 7.5 and work up to taste if I had a Zmax.
