Not trying to bash smoktek or cartotanks. But boy not having a pleasant experiance with cartos.. I primed it and let it soak for a little while to get the juice saturated in there but I don't get a good taste out of it. Always seems burnt and whenever I Try a different juice there's always a lingering taste of the one before. I set the voltage properly and still somethings wrong..l maybe the style itself? All stock internal from smoktek maybe that's the prob?

Maybe I'll just stick to clearomizers and RDA'S

Exactly how did you prime the carto? How much juice did you use?

What resistance is the carto? What voltages did you use?

As BlueSnake said, the symptoms you report sounds like you didn't prime it enough or the carto isn't wicking properly.

Some people prefer a cooler vape. If you are using low resistance cartos they may appear to give a burnt taste if you prefer a cooler vape. Perhaps standard resistance cartos will work better.

I personally don't care for dual coils. After a day or so of vaping they seemed to often get a burnt taste to them. I suspect that the upper coil didn't get enough juice to the polyfill around it, allowing the polyfill to burn. Since I switched to single coil cartos I never have had a problem with a burnt taste.

Hope this helps. :)

I dripped into the carto while spinning it around about two rotations I'm guessing 6-10 drips letting it sit then doing it once more. Maybe that's not the right way? I let it seep all the way down till there wasn't juice at the top. How to prime it correctly? Probably need a new carto this one has like 3 juices in it lol

Btw is 1.5ohms I used like 3.5volts. Maybe I'm reading the ohms chart wrong

6-10 drops is not enough. Do this with it; stick it in the tank with the tank filled with juice, then take some dry pulls until you see about 1-2ml of juice pulled into the cartomizer. Then drop a few drops, I say a few in through the top of the cartomizer. Then take a few puffs on 3.0v, then go higher and higher until the desired voltage. No more than 3.6 if its a 1.5ohm cartomizer (if dual 1.5, then you can go no more than 4.2).

I also used XL cartos and I put approximately 1.5 ml of juice into them to prime them. Your voltage is not the problem, you need more juice in the carto. If you're dripping put 3 to 4 drops in at a time. You can do a thermometer shake to get the juice down into the carto. If you try to put the juice in too fast it will just go down the center hole and come out the bottom. Some people put a toothpick in the center hole to make sure all the juice gets into the carto. Just put a lot more juice in the carto and you should be good to go. Don't forget once a carto is burnt it will always taste burnt.

Not near enough juice to prime it properly. The filler needs to look like a wet slushy drink when finished. The filler should glisten its so wet, but not pooling.

I personally don't like to "count drops". Different droppers make different size drops, which can greatly fool you into thinking you're using enough when you're not. I judge what is "enough" by the appearance of the filler. Below is my technique:

BADITUDE'S CARTOTANK SETUP GUIDE

I suspect you're using a dual coil carto. I often got a burnt taste from dual coils after a day or so, probably because the filler around the top coil goes dry from inadequate wicking and allows the top coil to burn the filler. Try some single coil cartos, I think you'll like them much more.

I also don't like low resistance cartomizers. Again a harsh vape to me. If you are using a mechanical PV, try some standard resistance cartos (2.0- 2.5 ohm). If using variable voltage, try high resistance cartos (2.5 - 3.0 ohm).

I haven't been able to really try this tank yet since my Smok 2.0 Single coils are crap. The tank should perform well, I got it mainly for the glass/metal combo for work. I've prime 3 of these 35mm carts with 50-60 drops/1.5ml of liquid, filled tank, dry pulls, watched air bubbles, let sit for up to an hour and I am not getting any flavor. Not a totally burnt taste either. I don't have these problems with my IBT and I'm using the Smok 35mm bought from IBT on a standard tank from them. I've been using some old and new 808 carts that my wife uses from V4L and there's never an issue with them like what I'm having.

I have some Boge flangeless 35mm, but they don't fit in this tank, so I don't know if I should by more of these or try another vendor? Maybe wait for Fushions to be in stock somewhere?

Would love to hear more on this, because I'm frustrated with them… lol
