A friend is having difficulty switching to vaping because she has a tendancy to go into coughing fits after vaping.

So I wanted to mix up some samples for her with high VG and some soothing type flavors.

I've been thinking along the lines of a light menthol, a blueberry, and ? I have most of PA's and FA's flavors. Since I have never mixed specifically for reduced TH, I was wondering if anyone else has a suggestion?

Off the top of my head, FA's Coconut, Chocolate (but not Cocoa), and most non-citrus fruit flavors are pretty smooth. PA's Bavarian Creme and Peanut Butter are as well.

Add a drop (or less) of vape Wizard if you have it, or maybe Magic Mask which I haven't used. That's probably the best way to reduce harshness. Also might want to try Ethyl Maltol in addition or if you don't have the FA stuff.

Smell them for ethanol, that usually means it will have a bit more TH. Some smooth sounding flavors like Vienna Cream have this.

I know some new vapers who have this problem because they directly inhale straight into their lungs from the atomizer, and after I teach them to draw into their mouth and then inhale air to pull the vapor into their lungs it helps a ton.

Good luck to your friend.

I find this to be Extremely smooth. Very nice in the mourning and evenings. Heck, very nice all the time.

We've gone over inhalation technique many times and she is getting better.

She "bites" her menthol cigs. Sharp, fast, deep inhale, so changing to a PV technique took a few attempts. I'm just amazed that a smoker like that would get choked so easily on vapor.

Great suggestions so far folks. The help is appreciated.

Not surprising at all actually, not in the begining anyway. I was at a friends house and she tried my eG0 with RY4, she gagged. They don't expect the sensation, even properly done. Menthol I found in the begining had a soothing effect, when compared to other tobacco flavours.

A point to consider. Many are reporting phloem from vaping VG liquids, myself included although my VG is limited to 20%. I do not experience this with straight PG liquids. Of course the downside, vapour production. I will reduce my VG to 10% in future batches for a while and see if that makes a difference. It is not a large amount of phloem, but noticeable nonetheless in comparison.

IMO there's a time & a place for this technique... Vaping isn't one of em'. Love it when hard-core smokers say an e-cig is like smoking air-- then bend over coughing, gagging, snot flowing freely from their face while handing back my PV crying through blood shot eyes how harsh it is. To which I say,
"Better than a bare-assed camel in your mouth, don't ya think."

I got some MFS Dreamsicle in a PIF that was smooth (creamy w/ hint of orange). It worked w/ menthol which can overpower the orange.
It may also be called orange Dreamsicle. (#3 most popular in MrsT!)

It's creamsicle orange...probably formulated with smooth flavor in mind.

I'd go with the menthol like you said, blueberry is definitely fairly smooth as well, and watermelon...I've never found watermelon with a big throat hit. Don't want to try adding PGA to it...would probably make for one killer watermelon though.

I mixed her up some Blueberry (PA's Extra), Cotton Candy (EM) and a sweet Menthol (EM & a few drops of menthol suspended in PGA)

She likes the blueberry. Not my tastes as it was too weak for me. The sweet menthol was interesting to my taste and would have made a great base for a lemonade IMO. Just sweet and refreshing kind of effect, but needs another kick to make it an all-day vape.

But, I wasn't mixing for me...
