Birmingham, Al
you actually respond to fire alarms at work Mad?

Assuming we hear the alarm, we all wander around for 5-10 minutes, trying to decide if it's real. Eventually we meander outside. Step two occurs faster if it's a pretty day or near lunchtime. Sometimes people go back in to get something they forgot. Eventually someone tells someone that maintenance said it was a false alarm and we meander back in. We're all pretty much screwed if there is a real fire.

:)

I bought the card and gift weeks ago.

Just got back from the "mega super grocery world universe" outlet... was looking for a little something extra for dinner tonight. Ended up getting four oversized/overpriced red velvet cupcakes with obscene amounts of frosting. And a little extra side dish for the dinner course. The place was simply MOBBED! What a mess... people buying flowers and candy and :censored: from the aforementioned commercial. And of course, they are all in MY "express lane".

Also came home with 4 serape tetras and 4 tiger barbs. Don't ask.

:facepalm: :facepalm: :facepalm:

OK... the old work group is at it again! Looks like ANOTHER "Rochester Yacht Club" gathering will be in the works:

"I also want to express my appreciation for all of you who attended the event and contributed books. I always knew the BR family had big hearts. I'm hoping for those that attended, you had a great time - I know I did! I believe (name) has once again offered to sponsor an evening on the water when the weather gets warm. After this winter, we will all be looking for some nice hot weather. So keep a look out for an announcement on a summer event in early summer. We hope we will see you then."

So, I wrote back:
"Guess I need to start shopping for some nautical attire, or learn how to do that 'tie a sweater around the neck' thing."

You have to understand, though, that the person who is sponsoring these yacht club things is stinking filthy oozing rich... she and her husband recently bought a $1M+ townhouse (in the urban center)... and she said that it's "fairly modest". :rolleyes:

where's your memory? ;)

i siphon ...........................

ROFL.

There's no need to siphon with your mouth (Just skip this post, OK Bear? Just skip it)

For a car...OK, because you can't dunk the whole siphon hose in the tank. But for a fish tank, it's easy.
1) Put the WHOLE HOSE in the tank. Do it bit by bit so all the air is out of the hose and it's full of water.
2) Put your thumb over the end of the hose that you're going to lift back out.
3) Put hose+thumb in bucket on floor.
4) Let thumb off end of hose.

Somebody here suggested a powered siphon / gravel cleaner.

I checked it/them out and reviewers on Amazon were just about unanimous in the unit's performance and construction being crappy.

i bought one once and brought it straight back! :D

~~~~ @ that frannie! i gotta make my way to geoff one more time with boots ............ sigh
snow is diminishing but still at about 5 to 6 inch depth - melting is not too shabby though!
