Yeah, apparently they weren't watching the same forecast that I did for some reason ... the ones I saw all said that the snow wouldn't even begin to start falling (in Atlanta) until mid-day yet they are trying to say that they were expecting it much earlier. Wrong.

I'm not going to point any fingers ... I've always thought that was a waste of time other than identifying what needed to be fixed.

It's the media Haze.

There's a vid in that link (not the main one on top, but one lower)
You KNOW that she found the worst situation (but managed to get to it) and then used it as a backdrop to try and pin down the mayor/governor. Did they show all the stuff that people WERE doing? Nope.

Then she says "Is it really up to Home Depot to provide shelter? Why doesn't the government do that?"
And I'm screaming (in my mind) at the top of my volume....."because then taxes would be 100 x higher for all the shelters we'd have to build and keep stocked every 3 miles on every road just to make your .... happy!"

It's all about reasonable expectations.

Exactly! I watched that same video in fact and was thinking the same thing ... you can't prepare for everything and in particular, winter weather extremes in the deep south! And I will say this, once the morning rush hits (and doesn't let up until well after 10am) it's impossible to get those trucks out onto the interstate or at least to the point where they could add any value. Otherwise they would just be sitting there like everyone else.

You don't think Meggars thought you were serious do you?
