I've moved back inside and have started watching the second hobbit movie on amazon. So far it's recapping the last 1/4 of the first movie

The movie is about 2.5 hours, i'm starting to think that only the last 1.5 hours is new footage. It's disconcerting, because none of the reviews and nothing i can find on google comment on the huge amount of overlap. Makes me think i'm imagining things. But so far i've already seen everything in the movie so far...but i've only watched the first movie.
