Good morning Mad

Hope you feel better today, and glad you weren't blown away :)

Good to see ya,mad:)

I remember a couple of times this weekend when I noticed a strong storm, but nothing so severe as encountered earlier this year. I didn't notice any sirens, either.

Definitely counting myself lucky, this time!

Comcast To Give Up Millions of Users To Grease Time Warner Cable Deal - TIME
The terms of the three-way deal are complex. Charter will acquire 1.4 million Time Warner Cable subscribers, making it the second-largest cable operator in the United States. Comcast and Charter will swap 1.6 million subscribers. The post-merger Comcast will transfer 2.5 million subscribers to a new publicly traded company spun off from Comcast. Comcast shareholders will own two-thirds of the new company, with Charter owning the remaining third.

“Comcast and Charter will transfer assets serving approximately 1.6 million existing Time Warner Cable customers and 1.6 million Charter customers in a tax-efficient like kind exchange, improving the geographic presence of both companies,” the companies said in a statement.

As part of the deal, the combined Comcast-Time Warner Cable will gain new subscribers in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, and New York. The new, still unnamed cable company will gain subscribers in Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Minneapolis.

According to the local news....all of Michigan except a small South-West corner get's "spun off" to the new soon-to-be-created spin-off.

This is all "If approved".

They have to divest...since they'd own more than 30% of the cable customer business otherwise.

Aww......... Beasties!

They look calm. What are their names? Are they boy or girl beasties?

The girl beastie is the red/brown one. She's named Monroe, after Bill Monroe (i didn't name her). To the right is LT. Staring beseechingly into the camera, saying 'please can we get out of here already?' is John Doe. :)

sounds like a shell game, that results in the consumer still having no choice.

Good evening y'all :)

UAB closed at 2pm for the upcoming storms. I stayed til about 4 'cause i was in the middle of something. We're back under a tornado watch, but hopefully we'll have fewer tornados in this round (none would be the perfect number)
