I bought 1.5GB. How much is that?

??? Speed?
Fast. Fast for wire-connected too. I get about 30 MB (megabit) download speed with connected cable modem internet connection. So if your wifi is 1.5 GB, that's fine for anything. Chances are there's another bottleneck somewhere and you don't really get that speed, or that it's 1.5 MB not GB.

Even 1.5 MB is fast enough for ECF-ing. Video would stutter a bit at 1.5 MB but 1.5 GB is 1000 times faster than 1.5 MB.

So check your letters. ;)
How does it seem? Maybe try a youtube vid.
Basically, even though the WiFi repeater/hot-spot can talk to your computer fast, doesn't mean you get to the internet fast. But all your local computers would talk to each other very fast. The 1.5 GB may be the LOCAL speed, not the internet connection speed. But IDK what your service is like. If it's a phone service connection to the net, maybe 4G???? That would be about the top-end for 4G and would be (sounds) $$$ pricey. But IDK. I need more info.

P.S.
Hi snails. Flyby. ~~~~~
Hiya jj.

~~~~~~ @ atty and frannie! ;)
atty, i believe frannie bought 1.5gb of usage. but i could be mistaken. i'm heading toward geoff and then supper AGAIN :lol:
Yes,Tib is correct.
Oh! :facepalm: :p (At least I had sense enough to put "??? Speed?" in the reply. ;)
In that case, you can turn off things like "show avatars and signatures" to save on bytes transferred. Depends on how much you use ...aka...how often you visit ECF or other sites, how many refreshes you do, etc. You'll get a feel for "how much that is". Totally depends. Also your browser caches stuff so it doesn't transfer as much if it's seen it before. So it's really hard to say.
It's 1.5 billion bytes of data, but unless you know how many bytes is typical for something, that's almost meaningless.
:)
Bummer Tibs.
That always sucks.
yup! ;)
frannie, 1.5 gb should be more than sufficient for your weekends but don't leave the thing on if you're not online. you should be able to get a rough idea on usage by typing in the address bar
192.168.1.1.
i can check both of mine that way - vz and usc - don't see why at&t should be different
192.168.1.1 is in the local IP range. May be it. May be settable.
Sounds good if it has a default page that gives a usages summary.
If there's already another device at that address around, it may have a different one. IDK. It's interesting how that all works out.
But good point Titbs. Since I don't use one, I didn't think of that. She should be able to see some monthly usage stuff on her account too, if she browses to her provider's site and logs in.
If that address doesn't work for some reason, Windows may tell her if she looks at the network stuff and sees the hotspot and right-clicks on it or something.
Put a dab of ammonia on it. Maybe dilute it. Google it.
Bee sting pens are partly ammonia. Other solutions include baking soda, and/or meat tenderizer.
Basically, bee stings are acids and bases neutralize em. Ammonia may penetrate, IDK about baking soda but some people say (on the net) they use that. They also take a benedryl if they can tolerate it/mix it with existing meds.
