not so fast, bear! ;) this last operation was touch and go to fix an error in the previous one. success rate at just 50% to keep a normal gait. in mad's place i would adhere strictly to whatever guide lines are given. your dad was lucky but why take chances? it's not a matter of feeling up to it but encountering unforeseen circumstances. how would your dad have fared if the airbag had engaged?

I followed all instructions after shoulder surgery and still had complications...I don't know what that means other than we all heal differently and respond differently to those stresses. Good luck Mad!!!

If Mad feels - deep down - that it would be dangerous, then I'm sure he would/will not disregard instruction.

Remember: He says he will tantrum if denied driving privileges. That sorta-kinda tells me he's feeling up to it. Now, whether that's honest ABILITY or "cabin fever" is unanswered. One of those reasons is better than the other.

he can throw his tantrum all he wants as long as he follows directions! ;)

LMFAO!!! Another good one bear! :D

The biggest concern I have driving when I haven't been cleared to do so is that whole damn insurance thing and the potential repercussions with work. I have to be a good boy; getting into my 2nd accident so soon after the first one did not help a department that was already behind.

Now that I think about it, it might be too difficult to throw a tantrum - I can see it taking a lot of effort to get down on the ground, not to mention the fact that I wouldn't be able to drum my heels, either. :D
