FranC:
So your a country gal who has some interest in Wolves:
You might find this interesting. The Minnesota Timberwolf, was almost extinct not to long ago. Now its a protected animal by law. But the cattle ranchers cant stand them. (They are harmless creatures too people very timid, so timid you its hard to find them.) The farmers dont like them cause they kill cattle for food. And there is only one way to get rid of them, you have to get rid of the female. Its because the female is the leader of the pack. <<<(as it should be right?) You wont find this in Wikepia animal habitat studies, but according those who live around wolves, A single female can have a pack of males with them. Including there pups for a few years. So the farmers sometimes kill the female, burn them and spread the ashes against the law. <<< at least this is what i hear. And they spread the ashes because a lot them are tagged so the DNR knows where they are all the time. Then the Wolves leave, presumably in search of another female. No worries really for the Wolves. Cattle ranching and dairy ranching in Minnesota is real small compared to a while back. In one township they had 17 dairy farmers years ago, today in that township there is only ONE left. So the Timberwolf has survived and is flourishing. The Black Bear has made a strong come back too. Once in a while a stray cougar cat runs
thru. <<< ONly seen one of those my entire life.
Hi AttyPops, Hi All.
