So, the "roll call" letter re: old workgroup gathering on 20aug14 (at the "yacht club") came through. Within the letter, it says: "We have at least one ‘alumni’ who is traveling a substantial distance to be with all of us…so we are hoping for a great turn out."

Attached to the note is an Excel worksheet... which pinpoints WHICH person is traveling a "substantial distance".

It's one of the three (3) people from my past who I desire to release a cathartic tell-off. This would be a Golden Opportunity.

However, Bear will take the semi-high-road and just use a now-known eMail address to send the message. While it may not be the dream method, it would avoid making an unpleasant situation at the gathering.

Or... should I go and just pull this person off to the side later in the gathering just before departure time?

If anybody wants the scoop on the REASON, just PM and I'll send a Cliff's Notes version.

I dunno, Bear...I always end up feeling worse after a cathartic tell-off than i did before. But that's just me. I'm not so good at them, and it's usually towards a person who is so much better at being a jerk than i am that it either falls on deaf ears or backfires. I usually figure out a different way.

The past doesn't exist anymore, Bear.
Up to you. The higher-road is to just ignore it and let it go.
OTOH, if you think that the person would actually LEARN something...maybe a constructive conversation is in order (not at the event).
However, I reach a certain point with some people were I just "leave them to the world" and....write them off as a waste of protoplasm. Don't even bother with them anymore than you would with, say, a gnat or any one of the trillions of other life-forms on the planet that you won't have contact with in your lifetime.

That's not to be confused with eliteism....but rather a defense mechanism. Mean/obnoxious/whatever people suck, so just don't let them into your life if you can avoid it, avoid them if they are there, and confront if you must (to stand your ground).

Do you guys think that Rachael Ray designed the new button-theme or what?

morning, atty, ces and bear! ;)

i agree with ces and atty - the high road is the one to take ;) but then only our frannie scored the same as you on a certain test! :D

Tibs...optical mice (AKA laser mice...but not always using a real LASER)...need to "see" a rough surface to track movement. So glass messes em all up. So would some real-smooth painted surfaces.

that i know, atty ;) what puzzles me is that the pad with apparently some recently acquired roughness is throwing my mouse into fits! :D

Saw that new "Lucy" movie yesterday ($4.50 ticket ;) :) ). Was very entertaining. Not scientifically accurate or anything so it's much more action-adventure than it is any form of sci-fi. Was short, sweet, with good acting particularly by S.J. Not a "formula" Hollywood re-hash. Great special effects.

Although I'm sure CES and others that are "in the know" will totally laugh at the very-laughable premise, it's worth seeing if you don't take the premise seriously and just realize it's a plot vehicle. The whole thing is entertainment after all. It entertains well. :)

G'mornin, snails!

There are new themes? Hmmm, not sure if I can stray from ECF-1...

Also, has anyone had to call whatever USPS Customs location in NJ to have something cleared? I may just order a 2nd LIPO from the US Hobby King warehouse.

it might take as long as 2 weeks to get through customs if you got bad luck. nothing wrong just the sheer quantity of stuff to be cleared. i don't think a call will speed that up!

morning, mad!

@ fran and atty - yup, same problem as always :(
