List your top ten tunes of the 70's and 80's. Best of the best.

...

Ok so Snails, onward and upward what your list of favorites from 70's and 80's?

It's (not-so-)funny you bring up 70s and 80s music.

My entire vinyl collection is stored in the basement. 50 boxes, even, of LPs, 12" singles. 5 boxes high, 2 boxes deep, 5 rows. Each box supposedly holds between 60 and 75 pieces. On top of those are five smaller boxes of 45rpm singles, all in plastic protective sleeves.

Yesterday, the mass decided to tip over a bit (found the boxes to be damp, molded, mildewed) sending 5 of the LP boxes crashing and splitting open, and ALL the 45rpm boxes opening, the records sliding all over the place due to the plastic sleeves.

I did not need that extra work.

My feelings about music, right now, are pretty sour.

Ask again in a few weeks.

ETA:
My top 10 will kind of make you scratch your head, since I was not really "into" mainstream top-40 stuff.

There's no way I can gel stuff down to a "top 10". Too broad. Depends on my mood too, as in, some music is better for some moods and times than others. I like most all of it. I have a hard time classifying hard-core rap (with no melodic content) as music though. Guess I'm just old.

♪♫♪♫♩ Disco...disco sucks.. ♪♫♪♫♩ quack, quack ;)
(but it's still a "nostalgia thing" and even bearable at times)
Most classic rock is good.
But like Tibs demonstrated...as soon as you make one list, you've omitted so much good stuff.

Otherwise, flyby to make Tibs and Bears happy. ;)

OK... in thinking about it, my #1 should have been instantly identifiable.

Disco had been gestating '74-'76... but this is where it passed through the birth canal and came alive. Before techno, trance and industrial even HAD names, there was 1977's...

flawless.

I'd really like to hear this in a club just one more time before I bucket.
