... nothing to eat or drink after midnight (SCREW that... I am having a cup of black coffee and enough water to gulp down 15mg valium right before exiting the house)
... no smoking for a WEEK afterward (LOL... I mean, really... LOL!!!)

My dentist wrote me a valium rx before my last procedure too- but i was awake for the procedure and not NPO after midnight.

I'm having IV sedation (plus nitrous, plus novacaine). So, the NPO. They don't want you projectile hurling all over the room.

(they offered anesthesia...but it was going to cost an extra $400. i decided i could tolerate an hour)
