Maybe the smugglers work for Grimm...the fish are how he gets rid of reporters he doesn't like......
It's possible...NYC has a history of crooked politicians committing all sorts of unsavory acts. OTOH, the Piranhas reminded me of those "pedicures" women have been getting where they let fish eat skin off their feet....eeeewwww

LOL I read that this morning too  They thought if they flew them low, they could do anything they wanted...

WT.H.E.Double hockey sticks????????????

Why CAN'T they?

Think about it....

They have been flying RC airplanes for YEARS. DECADES. There's some that fly them around here. Noisy as heck, but fun.

Now if you shape it like a copter, you can't fly it??????

How are they differentiating the RC hobby from the drone delivery? Does it have to carry a load?

Heck, the RC planes we've seen for decades....are heavier and fly faster and are more....ballistic....in their flight.

Not that I want a bunch of drones flying around delivering stuff. I'm not real keen on the idea. However, this remote flying stuff is NOT new.

You'd have to ask the FAA why not...I didn't write the rules. However, if I owned a business I would look into the legality of delivery drones before I decided to proceed (hence why I was "laughing" at the brewery guys). I am sure that at some point, private drones will be allowed for businesses but that time is clearly not now.

I've already said that I don't particularly want drones flying around me too much...especially now that some of them will be gigantic. When one of those crashes into a building it will do major damage.
