... and the 4-5 hour sprinkler blow-by-blow sagas ... and CES telling me I should have a system installed (for the 3rd or 4th year running) ... and me reminding her that the last estimate/quote was for right around $10K (for the 3rd or 4th year running).

It'll all be new to you, though.

I think with a 10K price tag, I'd only make that particular suggestion once.... :p

It's going to get interesting here for sure ... there is now a possibility of up to 12 inches of snow where I live! I could have sworn I lived in Georgia ...

Tibby we are now getting those 'ice pellets' you mentioned a while back ... actually they are more like ice crystals given their tiny size but along the same lines nonetheless. They make quite the racket in fact as they pile up on everything in sight! :glare:

I won't be going anywhere tomorrow for sure ... :(

Stay safe and warm folks! :)

Stay safe and warm Haze

We're in decent shape i think. we stayed above freezing overnight, so just have rain. We may get about 2" of snow this afternoon/evening, but the forecast is really confusing in terms of timing and temperature. All the hot air here must be making a difference...

Good morning Fran and Tibs- when does this mess of a storm reach you?

morning, ces and atty! ;)

system seems to have reached fayetteville, nc but is moving slowly - should be in good shape till late afternoon!

There'll be time to get Geoff some treats, then. And unlike bread and milk, the store shouldn't be out of Geoff treats :)

But'cha didn't Blanche, 'ya didn't.

'K, i guess i'll take your word for it...since i don't remember (which is obviously part of the problem) ...but...now i have to decide whether to suggest it again, this summer, just to be a PIA...

So now I know why the "outside cat bowl" has been emptying very quickly lately. "Mini-blackbirds" (whatever their actual name is, I dunno) flock to it. Poor neighbour/stray cats... trekking to an empty bowl in this cold weather. :( Not sure how to remedy that situation.

There has been a really ratty matty dirty grey and white stray hanging around. Doesn't run away, but keeps a distance to observe. Hope it becomes a bit braver over time.
