Hi CES! I'm glad they let you go early and that you made it home safely!

We have a bunch of icy snow, I say around 4-6 inches but luckily we didn't get any of the freezing rain that they were talking about ... at least not yet anyway. It is still snowing but mostly the real fine particle stuff right now.

Yes downtown Atlanta and areas below got more of the freezing rain part of this storm ...

I hope this time things go better...I saw that they already declared a state of emergency. My family down there didn't get stuck on the highways, they took the back roads. It took 4 hours to get home, but they weren't stranded like many others.

I hope this time things go better...I saw that they already declared a state of emergency. My family down there didn't get stuck on the highways, they took the back roads. It took 4 hours to get home, but they weren't stranded like many others.

It should be better this time around; they actually had the salt trucks out last night salting the interstates and highways. Your folks were smart! I'd rather be moving slowly than sitting in a parking lot!! Unfortunately, a lot of people around here only know how to get around using the major arteries so if a accident or something happens, they are stuck ...

I also think many just stayed at home this time rather than risk a repeat performance!

the boy is finally home - he left at 1pm, half an hour after it started snowing, which was too late. got stuck going up a hill with cars in front of and behind him and no other choice but to start walking. luckily, he was picked up by a mexican lady about a third into his journey and 2 hours later they had made it the 5 miles to his house ..........
