don't y'all know to google!

Freezing fog occurs when liquid fog droplets freeze to surfaces, forming white soft or hard rime.[23] This is very common on mountain tops which are exposed to low clouds. It is equivalent to freezing rain,

So now I know why the "outside cat bowl" has been emptying very quickly lately. "Mini-blackbirds" (whatever their actual name is, I dunno) flock to it. Poor neighbour/stray cats... trekking to an empty bowl in this cold weather. :( Not sure how to remedy that situation.

There has been a really ratty matty dirty grey and white stray hanging around. Doesn't run away, but keeps a distance to observe. Hope it becomes a bit braver over time.

Can't you cover that bowl somehow? So the birds can't spot it from above?

Cat food is good. :D
