CES, there's a few settings that you may like now that it's all installed. You can make the desktop come up by default, and also change the little "menu" button, and also have the metro interface to have the same background as the desktop.

It's funny. Most of the cast iron vids on the net are from guys. I guess it's "OK" for guys to deal with cast iron. 1) It's heavy, 2) It's "outdoorsy" survivalist/camper stuff 3) It takes muscle to lug it around and keep it seasoned properly and/or re-season it.
That's not to say the gals can't do it. But it seems like most of the vids are from guys. Cultural thing...maybe "cowboy/chuck wagon" kinda stuff?
Anyway...sorry to hear you didn't get dibs on em. The old cast iron is highly collectable. If it ever comes up, and you find out that they let em rust or something...just say "WOW! What a mess! All rusty!" and then "I'll take em off your hands if you want." They can be reconditioned.

I finished the Win 8.1 install yesterday evening. Went out with friends while it was downloading. We ended up getting something to eat, and as we were finishing the waitress brought praline bacon over for us to try...it was really good
Have to decide whether i need to put the new computer on the network at work, or if i can just get away with a VPN server. If the former, I'll have to upgrade the version of 8.1 again (or IT will do it). I'll need to start adding actual programs and get rid of stoopid stuff that came preloaded. with all the messing with it yesterday I'm getting a feel for the OS. It's not completely horrible. Just weird.
