Yeah, it's tough for male dogs too. They still squat to poo. And....they tilt to pee. DM is rough (or tumors or whatnot that causes loss of rear 1/2 control).
I use a sling for Fido and help him move around and stay upright while going outside. It's sad. But he can still hold it pretty well and moves around once I help him stand up. So he's still with me. Not in severe pain.
