Use the admin in safe mode. Make a new user with admin priv. Boot regular with new user. Try stuff.

Safe mode may not install the driver. You may be able to plug it in using the non-admin account though while not in safe mode. IDK.

Looks like my "R91" won't be shipped until at least the 22nd. I also ordered a dual-coil rda and it won't be ready to ship until then, holding up the order. oh well ...

My Kafun Lite+ V4 (which doesn't even exist yet) may be here sooner........

Good luck with getting the back up going. Worst case, you can probably take the laptop to a computer store and they can get the info from the hard drive.

the one i deal with is in durham - i had a long talk with them already and they agreed it's too dangerous to try anything until i have another computer in hand. i will try to back up this morning - if no luck i will take both computers - once i have a replacement - to copy the files from the old hard drive right onto the new one.
they assured me if i curtail my activities it should be ok to run in safe mode for an extended period of time
