and i found my problem but can't make any of the solutions work ................. sigh
trying the mse download one more time as administrator but 82gb makes for slow going!

it only allowed me chkdsk (read only)- no parameters but no problems reported
claiming the process was running already some other place
ms sure did a job with their faulty mse update
I find it triple ironic that Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) whacked your system.

85gb - that's where i've been - downloaded it twice now for both accounts but when i hit run the dialogue box does NOT open
well - i just checked mse, apparently the definitions updated
i will reboot and try my luck

that's the other thing - you can't uninstall mse in safe mode

got some clean-up to do but it'll have to wait apparently i made some changes to the system configure utility and am starting in diagnostic mode. heaven knows where that is but i imagine it's msconfig.

@home prime rib tonight! Hus bought it for his Easter dindin w/ Mom-in-law, but she decided on something else. Just three "ribs", but it smells good... even outside.
w/ colored eggs courtesy of Dad. It murders me how he puts them in the carton in rainbow order.
w/ leftover classic green bean casserole.
