Morning Tibs. How's DH this morning? Are your guys coming to do yard work?
It's looking like the guy that was supposed to mow my lawn while i was gone, didn't do it. I'm checking with my house sitter to see if the lawn was done right after I first left. It could have grown a lot in two weeks.

So here's the full story about the truck.
Since we're going back at the end of July, we ended up being able to leave most of the equipment in storage on the island, so we were heading back to UAB with a mostly empty 24ft truck. Since the truck was a 24 footer rented for round trip, the company really wanted us to get it back to Birmingham. We'd tried to arrange turning it in in Mobile and the company said no, so we had a few boxes with printers and computers and such that we couldn't leave behind.
Darned good thing that it was mostly empty. It broke down 14 miles from the island. Well, it wouldn't go faster than 45mph..was shaking and overheating. argh. I happened to catch up to the truck, and decided not to pass. Good thing. He pulled off into a parking lot and we called roadside assistance.
We managed to get the remaining equipment into the car i was driving and the car of the other faculty member. They sent a roadside mechanic, who then went to get a fuel filter and install it. All of which took four hours, while we sat in a parking lot. Now we really, really didn't want to have to make a >4 hour trip with an empty truck that we didn't trust. But the mechanic certified it, and off we went. sigh. Except that the fix didn't fix it. Truck still shaking and not going above 45 miles and hour. At this point the company FINALLY agreed to let us turn it in in Tillman's Corners. Whew. So after leaving Dauphin Island at 8:30 am, we had gone 25 miles by 2:15 pm when we finally got on the road.
I meant to ask the vaping roadside mechanic if he was on ECF..but didn't get around to it.

Possible rain tomorrow. Grilling today.
GF will be over this evening.
Grilling some sirloins and a few hotdogs for mom (can't chew steak so much anymore....and the beef quality in the stores is way down so there's only so much I can do. She gets ticked every time I make her steak....so I make hotdogs or burgers now. lol. And my steaks are NOT tough...usually. Mom likes steak medium to medium-well so that explains a lot.)
I think I'll do these sous-vide and finish on the grill.
