????
I haven't needed to revisit the website since receiving acceptance.
Should we start a pool now guessing how much premiums will rise for 2015? Would you start one in Outside, please?
There could be sub-pools for how much the out-of-pocket maximum will rise... how much deductibles will rise... which benefits will disappear, etc.
To be honest, I've given ACA very little thought the last few months. But November will be here before we know it.
OK, here's the deal in the nutshell.
I'm one of 25% of the ACA people that have to submit "proof" of 2014 income and/or have "inconsistancies" in their ACA data. This is common for people that work on commission, part time, sales, etc. Basically, if you're not in a known-salary-9-to-5 job, your salary varies from year to year.
So I have to submit a self-employment spreadsheet.
Well, I went to do that, and wanted to cross-check my figures with my previous submission for total-income. The web site doesn't allow you to view or print that detail. You just get "the results". I knew the ball-park figure, and should have just went with it. But...NOOOO....
So I wanted to look at it and submitted a "life change"....and IT WIPED OUT MY PREVIOUS SUBMISSION AT THE START of the process, rather than letting me cancel and go back. So now, it has me locked into a "Do you go on Medicaid or do you get ACA"? loop.
The State will call me. Sigh.
Thing is, if my projections are correct, or even low, then I won't qualify for the "New-Medicaid" with the new relaxed asset test. But if I don't make X dollars this year, I COULD HAVE qualified and then would have had medicaid rather than ACA. And if I qualify for medicaid then I don't qualify for ACA subsidy.
So it's all about "predict the future" and be right or else. Basically, the website has me locked into a "pending" loop now.
I should have just submitted the dang spreadsheet without being so picky. But hey, if I turn out to be wrong in my projections, it's good to talk to someone. I really don't know how people with variable incomes deal with this ACA crap. They should have eliminated medicare and just had a 0 -> whatever set of levels so I don't have to try to predict some "cut off" point.
Arrgggghhh.
Basically, I may make some decent money this year, I may not. IDK.
Anyway, they required me to make a submission by a few days from now.
And the worst part is....I already have 2 months worth of insurance...IDK if I have to pay back if I do qualify for medicaid. It's all messed up. Stupid congress.
