... annnnnnd ... to be expected:

The kitchen was remodeled in 1986, including the the three main appliances. The fridge was replaced 13may14 and now - we believe - the dishwasher will be leaving us soon. Rather than spend $$$ having a repairperson come in and having the chance of a "sorry, cannot help you" and the repair $$$ just being a complete waste, we are looking at what's out there. And the assortment is daunting.

Nutshell:
For those who care to share...
... brand (and model if you know it)
... how old
... your performance rating

Thank you!

ETA:
Merry Tuesday!

My dishwasher is a sturdy 8 year old off-brand with no bells, whistles or circuit boards...Roper (by whirlpool).

Yep... bare-bones Hotpoint here. I think it was around $219 back then. Pots-Pans/Normal cycle and Drying Heat on/off. That's it.

Sigh.

One thing that jumped right out is: The new models with the control buttons on the upper edge of the door (so they appear hidden) are designed to stick out from the counter by 2 inches or so! It's my opinion that if you have a "built-in", it should be FLUSH with the counter. Why would anybody want ANY appliance to stick out??? Looks terrible. So... buttons/knobs on the front of the door are fine.

Some of the prices are jaw-dropping.

Isn't it amazing how items RARELY go back into their original containers with ease?!?! Who packs those things, anyway?!?!

morning, bear!

and how right you are - i anticipate hours of struggling to get that thing rolled where it fits

i got a bosch - controls are on the inside, upper lip of door, no sticking out ;)

Just get one you talk to and tell it what to do, powered by Siri and integrated into your smart-home. Then...you only need to view the results on the integrated LCD front, color changing, panel with stainless steel bezel. And when it's not doing dishes, you can watch youtube recipe videos on it.

or not.

Good morning snails.
