Oh, don't get me started with the low-fat=healthy heart propaganda.
The obesity in this country has increased exponentially because of low-fat/high sugar processed foods.
I'd better stop here.
No... please continue!!!
I will proudly raise my hand as an example of what
SIMPLY REDUCING CARBS can do (while
maintaining previous/historic fat intake). I loves me my cheese and red meats. I just put those on FEWER (if any) crackers and Kaiser rolls, respectively. Do I want two burgers??? Yep!... but only one goes on a roll. The other is breadless with condiments n' stuff. It was/is small inconsequential consistent cuts like that which allowed a 50-pound loss in less than a year. And holding. It's where *I* want to be regardless of doc's suggestion of "15 more and that will be it".
Caveat:
I will say that carbs WERE my enemy and causing the problem. If somebody's demon is indeed excessive fat consumption, then the above will be meaningless and useless for them. But yeah, blaming fat alone for all the high BMIs in the world is an unfair, false, sweeping judgement.
