Good morning Atty :)

No, vacuum cleaners aren't supposed to burst into flames. So what would you see as fair recompense, Tibs?

Glad the weather guessers were wrong about the weather at your place, Bear.

my vacuum cleaner returned and burnt parts replaced and the refund ;) or a refund high enough to buy a top of the line canister now - they seem to have inched upwards to the tune of 200 bucks :(

The "refund" will probably be enough to account for the "lost value" of the original...aka a used model of $$$$$ dollars. So, if you're lucky, they'll give you some "credit" or offer to replace the existing one with an identical/similar model.

If so, take the credit and apply it to a new, better, model.

Wanting you to sign a release suggests they're a bit worried about liability- which in turn suggests that you could make a counter offer requesting replacement cost.

Call one of those TV lawyers NOW, Tibs!!! Rake 'em over the coals!!! Turn on the waterworks when they come to film you for a commercial!!!

Leaving now. Later!!!

What do you mean, "nope?"
That's "lost value of the original".
Better that it's a check though, then you can shop anywhere.

that was a top of the line canister, can't buy one now with just the original purchase price refunded. this was an unsafe product they put on the market ..................
ain't no fun seeing flames coming out of a handle nestled in your hand :D
