OK... what the HELL just happened? ...
I was preparing a side-dish for tonight's dinner. Don't ask what it is, not important. But the recipe says to start by bringing 3 cups water or 3 cups vegetable stock to a boil with 4 Tbs butter. OK... in pan, on burner... me watching television while waiting.
It starts making that sound "just before a boil". I go over to give it a stir when all of a sudden ***FOOM***!!! The contents came straight up out of the pan, in a cylinder. Then it went back in, but then splashed back out in a chrysanthemum-shaped mess all over the stove, back wall, counter and floor. What was THAT all about?!?! Whatta mess!!!

I truly cannot boil water!!! (In this case, vegetable stock.)

Takes you back to "The Electric Company", huh? Oh wait... you were probably 25 or 30 at that time. Never mind.
Long before that, Bear. It's how we would refer to our friends, when I was a kid. Ex: "Hey, youse guys wanna play some baseball?"
