There is a campsite opposite us that seems to attract strange people. Last weekend a big bus camper pulled in with a car behind from Virginia. There was an elderly couple,a boy of about 10 and a small dog. They put out a rug,no canopy,no chairs, barbecue or anything.The boy was out alone with the dog quite a bit but only right in front of the camper. The guy came out and took a walk with the boy and dog a couple times. Walked by ud once and said hi so hubby asked where in Virginia he was from. Said he lived close to Virginia Tech.
This weekend it's a older guy from Texas with a trailer longer than ours and he's all alone.Put his canopy out and even put lights on the canopy but he never comes out unless he goes right to his truck or the other way around.

no accounting for tastes! maybe he needs the canopy lights to fall asleep at night 
don't laugh! when i moved from nyc to va i had the hardest time falling asleep in the dark - now it's the other way around
