it's the boy's travel day and he won't get to barcelona till tomorrow in the am. got flight tracker on standby for the first leg - rdu to atl

would have never said this with whis around but i'm not an easy flier anymore. too many close calls in my active travel years, including returning to jfk due to the electrical systems having gone hay wild and counting the fire trucks waiting for us on our final approach ......

Good morning all (who aren't already slaving away at work)! I haven't been real active lately in any sense of the word. I got the only case (if the health department is to be believed and it isn't) of west nile in the county.

I got bit by ONE mosquito that I can recall and now this? What are the odds? I need to buy lottery tickets.

Thankfully all my parrots are inside the house and not in outside aviaries. Don't feel bad for me tho, feel bad for my roomie/husband. You shoulda seen his face when the Doc said I may be weak (basically worthless) for several MONTHS. LOL He was green. It took them a month to finally test for it so I think I'm feeling better day by day. Made the bed completely this a.m. and am gonna try to stay out of it until at least the end of a legit workday.

Everybody, especially those in Texas, take this junk seriously. It may not kill ya, but you might wish it had. And don't take anti-biotics until they test you for a bacterial infection. I was on 2 regimens of them before I insisted on a test and I think I'm so smart. DUH!

My LAST flight was in 2000. That is IT. I was flying to SanDiego (for a work-related conference) when we hit SUDDEN turbulence, big-time. That plane dropped so far so fast. People rose out of their seats, food and beverages went everywhere, overheads opened and anyone on their feet went to the floor (after floating for a second or two). Screaming, crying. I was never a huge fan of flying, but that did it for me. I planned to stop in Vegas afterward for R&R and ended up driving. And then, driving all the way home. Never, ever again.

OK... the NY Department of Labor sent a letter saying I "MUST" attend an unemployment "orientation" session next Tuesday at (now get this) 17h00!!! How INCONVENIENT and RUDE can they POSSIBLY be?!?!?!?! And it's NOT at the office that's only 4 or 5 miles away... oh no... it's at the one clear across the city, diagonally and in "da hood". Let's see... expressways at rush hour... dinner time... on-street ghetto parking. Really, WTF???



And the form that must be filled out BY HAND!!! You should SEE this thing!!! WHO does that any more??? Send one via eMail that can be typed on and printed, or sent back for immediate data collection. Oh... that's right!!! They have never even ASKED for an eMail address!!! So instead of ME taking the time to enter the information FOR them, NYS taxpayers have to shell out for someone being paid GOVERNMENT WAGES to do it. And THEY get to retire with an 80%+ pension and lifetime health insurance. The .......S.

PATIENCE?!?! Where is my $$$ for last week??? I sure do not see it in my account. When THEY say "jump", I'm supposed to do it (after asking "how far" and "in which direction")... but THEY can drag their ASSES all over the place.

You bet I am calling to get a better appointment. Otherwise, they'll get some tude like they've never seen before and pray they'll never see again.
