i've made up my mind to try spinrite before considering a national data recovery service. i'll be hunting for somebody today to burn a cd for me ...... the only burner i have is in the on-the-way-out lap top ....... sigh

There's really nothing to "hear back" about. They will be my first application AFTER unemployment runs out... the earliest in very early March 2013. Financial guy says it makes no sense to take a job that pays less than unemployment... which only stands to reason. Like, DUH! They give no benefits to part-time workers until after one year.

So, for all intents and purposes, I am "retired" until then.

By the way... the Kodak patent auction... They were anticipating $2.0B to $2.5B for the patents. The winners (Apple and Google), in total, are UNDER $500M.

My guess(es):
- Doors close soon.
- Some other company buys Kodak.

yup - leave it to kodak to roil up the patent market - with this auction the value of patents is being looked at in a completely different light

I will say that we should watch for Google and Apple to become pals in the not too distant future. "AppleGoo"? "Goople"???

I see one or the other buying out Kodak.
