Tibs, you DO need to leave some brush for the critters. Except the poison snakes. You don't have to leave brush for poison snakes...
Maybe you can get a mongoose?

hehe! there's no danger of running out of habitat! i think all in all there's maybe 3 cleared acres out of 20.
I'd like to just read...but i need to dust, vacuum, do a bit of laundry, and pull at least a few weeds.
(and no Atty, the weeding wasn't directed at you, but at the universe that puts the gazillion baby oak trees in places that are not woods)

I can send you some premium fertile acorns if you'd like to start from scratch, or some 2-3" baby oaks...
I wonder how difficult it would be to ship them (and have them arrive alive)
'k, so, I have a spider dilemma...
I have a big spider web, and a not-yet-huge spider at the side of my front porch. It's there cause there're are plenty of skeeter's. Technically it's doing its job, and it's a necessary job. But did i mention that it's on the front porch, and about 1/2" long right now, before chowing down on the skeeters?

gently sweep it off - with a little luck the web will be rebuilt in a more convenient spot ........................... for you!
So, I went back out to look at it...and it was gone. Guess using wind chimes as the anchor points for a web isn't the best idea. Hope that the rebuild is in a better location (both for the spider and for me)
