I have a technical question...yesterday i had a short in a carto, and the efest IMR battery started to get warm/almost hot. It cooled right back down when i took it out, but am i correct in thinking that the battery should be permanently retired?

before you toss wait for our battery guys - it seems the safety feature on the battery kicked in but i don't know if it's compromised now ................

you know - sort of like an air bag - it protects only once

No but the white print on black was easy to see.

WOW I tried the darkened screen and it works great but I don't like it.

It was but Windows did an update last night and I was back to big this morning. I ran a virus scan but nothing there. I did a system restore this morning and that fixed it for about 5 minutes and the poof everything was big again.

Thanks. It never got too hot to touch, and it's a "safe chemistry" battery, so no protection circuit...but i've got it separated, and will probably take it to battery recycling. No reason to take risks.

find the ctrl key and the -key every time you hit those 2 keys the size of your page should decrease

better yet
hold down the ctrl key and tap the - key a couple of times. does your screen respond?

I never knew that. And with my intuitive brain, I hit the plus and it got bigger.
