Entire back yard "raked" by mowing.
Leaves blown out around front steps and air conditioner.
GF's trailer tarped.
Small "trees" removed that grew over the season.
Dinner eaten.
Dog walked.
"Find the treats" game completed.
Back on line.
(All of this was not included in the RW stuff that caused the AFK...but FIDO was.)

But yes. Small change of small "pop up randomly" twisters. Mostly 60 mph winds that are the issue. The good news is that the leaves have mostly fallen and that reduces the wind damage chances a bit. Besides, the weather people like to err on the side of caution and have "breaking news" all day long about stuff breaking.

I hope that fido is ok after causing an AFK....and that your weather guessers over hype the risks there as much as ours do here.

It's usually some tree that takes out comcast or power somewhere. Power I can deal with (generator). No plan B for internet. So if I go bye-bye that doesn't mean I went bye-bye.
I keep doggie treats in a baggie in the closet, and the weather radio nearby. If we're under a watch i put the leashes in the closet. All i have to do is grab the beasties and shelter in place.

If I lived down south were they don't have basements....I'd be totally like those "Doomsday bunker" people....Big .... cement bunker...maybe without all the filters and live for 3 months stuff....but ...you know...buried fort knox style room.

I'm down-wind with a field down wind from me. So I wait until they all get their up-wind yards done, then do mine. If I didn't I'd have to do it twice.
