Hey Mad, is this a relative of yours?

Just got back from a seminar about what to do if there's a shooter in the building...
a summary:
get out if you possibly can- lockdowns don't work if you're in the building where the shooter is, even if they help control the environment around the building.
lock doors and barricade the room if you can't get out
if the gunman gets into the room, throw stuff (any stuff) it'll make it hard for him/her to aim. also, fight back.
this has been a public service announcement courtesy of our university police department.

Ours is about the same cept they call my office to let me know(like I wouldn't know that sound)a shooter is present.
Pull out your .44 magnum and put a round right in the middle of the SOB's chest. Don't get cute and try for a head shot or try to wing him, just point at the chest area and pull the trigger.
True...not gonna matter much if it's dead center or not.
I'm the only one in the building that carries so...they leave it up to me to stop him. Course the chances of that happening are the same as winning the mega lottery. Actually...the odds are less so...probably won't ever have to worry with it.
Hmmm......how about a crossbow? A Bowie knife?um, Jerry, I'm the person they're talking about when they say some people probably shouldn't have guns....I can hurt myself with a piece of paper.
A killer could do a lot of damage, before you confront him, Meggers. One person allowed to carry is better than none, but a few more armed employees would be better.I'm the only one in the building that carries so...they leave it up to me to stop him. Slingshot and a paperweight?
JerryThat's scary, Chris. It's a good thing that he was rejected.Jerry
I work at a university, so the odds are more like winning $5000 in a lottery...still not much to worry about (especially in a state that doesn't have a lottery). Though the kid from the Colorado shooting did apply here. He didn't get an offer because people didn't think he'd fit in well- apparently there was something slightly off.
I do have paperweights and rubber bands...and acid.

True...though the building is not that big and the layout would be difficult for a shooter. I train three times a year with law enforcement(three ten hour days)in combat shooting, crowd shooting and tactical shooting. I shoot every weekend(usually 150 rounds). So...I'm by far the most qualified person here.
the other bit they stressed pretty heavily was that if you did happen to be armed, or take down the shooter, make sure that you do NOT have a gun in your hand when the police get there.
That's VERY important!
