They moved him to a skilled nursing facility for rehab. He's not mobile yet, and there are still some medical bits to resolve. What appeared to be a simple fainting spell followed by a face plant has had some pretty severe consequences, or more likely was the first symptom of other stuff. They started PT and OT, and we hope he'll be home by Christmas.

We'll have thanksgiving dinner with him at the facility-hopefully he'll be able to be out of bed for the meal. Mom and I will go to some friends of theirs later in the day- mom needs some time to relax. She's been going full bore for the past couple of weeks. I'm doing what I can to support them both, but there's not much that I can do - other than be here and make sure I'm the one cleaning cat boxes and little stuff like that.

Actually, I'd been pretty sure that they could take care of themselves...especially since mom is still working, and she probably will continue until they force her to retire   up til now they've both been quite young for their age. Heck they get out more than I do :)

I'm sure that this is just a temporary bump...and it has the potential for very good long term outcome.

How is your dad doing? Are y'all getting together with more of your family for thanksgiving?

LOL, you don't forget anything, do you Chris.

Nope, gonna have turkey, potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, vegetables. Not going to wait until Thursday though, the cooking is getting done today. My Dad is cooking the turkey and I will take care of the rest, then it will be time to indulge. :D

Are you going to have turkey for Thanksgiving?

Hiya, Fran. :)
