It is a morning.....one to stay as far away from the stores as possible

No... I had to leave some for the other people.
BUT!!!... a nice large bowl of them here for us to enjoy later!
PLUS!!!... more sprouts to make! Just have to pick up more bacon and green onions.

Very simple...
Remove excess stem and any questionable leaves from 2.5 pounds of brussel sprouts.
If the sprouts are rather large, cut in half.
Put in covered 4-quart casserole, adding 1/4 cup water.
Microwave on "high" for 6 minutes.
Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
Microwave on "high" for 6 minutes again.
Remove cover, drain excess water.
Cut 1 pound of bacon into small pieces.
Brown JUST until the edges start to crisp.
Remove roots and about 1 inch of green end from 15-20 green onions.
Slice onions into smallish pieces.
Add onions to the bacon and its grease. Stir well.
When the green pieces of the onions turn dark, remove from heat.
Add sprouts and toss all together.
Yum.
I know that's not standard recipe format.
do i have to microwave?
maybe i'll be brave and try it with a pound of sprouts ............ one of the very few vegetables i do not like

They should be steamed. Just be sure they do not turn to mush.
I'm not a fan of brussels sprouts - they weren't bad the one time I tried them grilled. Steamed with bacon and onion sounds possible...maybe.
