actually, united ;)

good morning y'all.

only about 30 min of the 2 hour delay was weather. the rest of it was boarding, taxiing out to the runway, the failure of one of the jet engines to start...going back to the terminal, attempts by the mechanics to fix it, waiting for a new plane and then flying home. When the pilot says "the other plane wouldn't have made it to birmingham" a short delay seems somehow less significant...

* IMPACTS...HEAVY SNOW ALONG WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL

EXPECTED. HEAVY SNOW AND/OR ICE WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS DRIVING
CONDITIONS. IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING IN THE WARNING AREA YOU
SHOULD CHOOSE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE IF POSSIBLE...OR YOU SHOULD USE
EXTREME CAUTION IF TRAVEL IS UNAVOIDABLE.

IF YOU LOSE POWER AND PLAN ON RUNNING A GENERATOR...MAKE SURE
THAT THE GENERATOR IS LOCATED OUTDOORS AND IS PROPERLY
VENTILATED. SPACE HEATERS SHOULD ALSO BE PROPERLY VENTILATED AND

You have no clue how much food there is in this house. Husbear is approaching the "hoarder" level and it makes me crazy. Open the freezer, stuff falls out. Open cupboards and cabinets, things fall out. He put up MORE shelving in the basement... they are FULL.
