i explained to him opening a thread without a supporting crew is worse than no thread. he needs to reevaluate what he can and can't or shouldn't do.
as we know being in the lounge curtails his exposure and the chance of finding a crew willing to support the thread

I thought that he had some friends that were willing to help out. Even in the lounge one person isn't enough to do it the way we'd been doing it.

apparently it did not pan out - to me a welcome thread with just one post or two is more of an insult than anything else.

I agree that if there isn't a crew in place to post on the welcome threads then he shouldn't start them. But, i also think that if people don't have expectations about what the thread "should" be then they won't feel insulted.
