Good pi day everyone. Thx for the 3/14 reminder Tibs!

    P.S.
Upon further reflection, I realized the above SpaceX shtick above was all about reusable rocket components OUTSIDE OF EARTH'S atmosphere. So they don't waste parts when landing on, say, the moon or asteroids. They're just testing it on Earth.

It's basically what NASA did with the moon lander, only NASA didn't have a problem leaving the "base" of the lander on the moon since they didn't care. Guess I should read the full article...

I read the article. Total fluff. However, I still contend that it's better for asteroid mining and moon landings and such than Earth landings. I'd use a shuttle approach in earth landings. That is, until we invent either zero-mass or anti-gravity devices. Then all bets are off.

    Good morning Atty.

Fluff tends to get more views and support, because people balk at reading and attempting to understand non-fluff ( i have nothing against fluffy though- it's nice and soft)

Most of us CAN'T understand the non-fluff. However, it's the writer's job to actually try and bridge the gap. I'm not 100% sure the writer did that here. I don't feel he/she did. Hard to tell. He/she just talked about the concept in general and didn't really delve into what SpaceX was trying to accomplish and why (IMO).

I love that the domino video is 3 minutes, 14 seconds in length

I wonder how long those beastie paw floor sweepers would actually stay on beastie paws. 3...2...1...gone ;)

The purpose and context are necessary. I'm constantly telling students that they need to not only define the hypothesis, but also make sure that people know why they should care- why is it important?
