Tibs, do you only have one donkey? My horse used to break out all the time, but since the neighbor moved in with her horse he stays home now. Well, he stays home now that he broke down the fence between to two pastures so they can hang out together.

yup, geoff is all alone since his best buddy, a goat, died a few years ago. we tried to find him a new companion but he rejected each and every one ....... sigh

I love to watch the guard donkeys across the street. The rancher has a herd of donkeys with each herd of cattle to keep coyotes away. There are at least 4 babies this year.
I'm hoping to get some goats in the spring, and chickens too.

We use donkeys in Texas and Oklahoma to guard cattle too. They are pretty damn good at it they do a better job keeping the calves out of trouble than the heifers.
