i wouldn't mind having a chance to work outside today.

Atty- i can't wrap my head around the need for 24+ watts....but i guess everyone is different. And hopefully that thread will help people that are thinking about jumping on the SLR bandwagon realize that there are safety issues if not done right.

(my ability to structure sentences is deteriorating- definitely time to go to work and write papers  )

Yeah, Clippin was skoolin' me on the "SLR" vaping in another thread the other day  I'm fine with my SLW (Somewhat Low Wattage) vaping.
Although I do have some 28g kanthal and I'm in a FB group buy for a mechanical

Fine if...
A) You do all the math
B) You do the battery research
C) You use a mod that won't blow up (even IMR's let off gasses as I understand it)
D) You have some insane need to vape something that is supposedly "SOOOO FANTASTIC!!!!!"...heard that before... so I'm in the "needs more research" camp right now.

Heck....DCC's were supposed to give this insanely cool vape. Now it's SLR. I still think it's surface area of the coil, closeness of the wraps, wick diameter, etc. as well as wire gauge. So all that has to factor into it. We've said for a long time that thermodynamics comes into play with various coils. But I don't see stressing IMR batteries or having ohms so low that it's nearly a short. YMMV. Good Luck.

Besides...you're a modder...just make one. Get a 3 amp button at RS for testing purposes and use some heavy gauge wire. The button will fry in short order...but it will work for testing purposes. Just make sure it doesn't weld itself closed or put a jumper or master-switch in for emergencies. That's how I'm thinking about testing this stuff (next month or so) but will need to get some AW's....

I'm not really a modder, I just play one on the forums ;)

The only thing I've put together are box mods with pre-assembled voltage regulator modules. I may skip the mechanical mod, I don't know. I have IMRs for the Vamo, Robust, iMotion - boost mods. The Saber Touch (buck mod) is good for 5A - 0.8ohm @ 3.7V gives 4.6A with 17 watts.

(With all this talk, is it a coincidence that my Protank and Evod are tasting 'off'? Even rewicked the Protank and still tastes 'off'. It's the vaping Gods version of striking with lightning  )
