and to keep you all abreast of my continuing vz saga .............. i went and bought an usb wifi adapter today. so now i have 2 TWO mifis happily blinking away and so far dispatch seems to hold a combined connection

that's why i got dispatch but it would drop the connection when i used one as a modem, the other as a hot spot! now i can run two as a hot spot after installing a second wifi adapter and dispatch seems to do fine combining - so far

It's a say day for me Tibby when (while admittedly all this is 3rd hand) none of that makes much sense. Yet...I could look into it and look it up...and I'm simply not motivated. Yeah, I know what a hot-spot is and such, but I don't know why you're having to rig up such a mess.
There was a time when I geeked out on that stuff. Now? If vz can't get it right with one wireless unit, or you're out of range or whatever, I just don't feel like digging.

Thank you Fran. That makes me feel much better. And don't feel bad about Tibby confusing us. She's a vz expert by now.
And....I'm glad it's working for her. And I'm proud of her for getting to this point.

remember when i told you i found connectify dispatch? it's supposed to be able to combine up to 10 different internet connections for one giant pipeline!
well, when i used one mifi attached to my computer which made it act like a modem and one as a hot spot, dispatch would drop one connection and their tech support is useless.
so, my lap top has one wifi card which means i can connect either to one hot spot or the other, not both at the same time. today i bought a second wifi card in the shape of usb wifi adapter - now i can connect to both mifis and dispatch can combine them.

Sigh. (I did mostly understand that...although 'connectify dispatch' sounds like a proprietary term. Some form signal combining into one logical (with two physical) connection.
