I like Ask the Vets--no discussions there, only vets allowed, you post what you think is the correct answer and you're done. If another vet disagrees, which happens--rarely, it's handled internally--nobody else sees the disagreement.

Terry is great in Ask the Vets. We often do 1-2-3 answers; Terry, Kent and yours truly. Tom chimes in sometimes--I wish he would stop by more often! 
Or anyone of you vets here, for that matter! Think of it as a form of community service!

You need to go to the VIP forum (Ask the Vets-Answers) where the questions are being answered--it's hidden from the general forum. Once the answers are given, the thread is moved to ATV in the general forum.

I'd answer questions in ask the vets, if only the questions were about stuff i knew something about - they're all technical about equipment i haven't used. So, thank gosh for the triple punch of Kat, Kent and Terry, and Frannie

Same reason I stay away. "How do I fix a coil on a ___ with double ___ connected to a _____ with a ____ using a toothpick and 80/20 ___ juice?" Grrrrrr Almost as bad as fixing Tibby's mifi issues remotely.
