I haven't been following connector-converter-gate. So what's wrong with just getting the proper thread type?

For most adapters the proper thread type is fine. it's just harder to find a 808 adapter, most are 808/901 which is also fine. The 901 has the same threads as the 808, but doesn't work on 808's unless it has the proper slots for airflow- so a straight 901 adapter won't work on an 808.

hehe! no go, atty! i gifted a volt set up to a feller and thought i could help more with 510 stuffis if i get him the proper adapter. ces, take a look here

the 901- 510 adapter - part number 7036 looks like it might work- both ends are female. see the notches around the outside of the larger side? as far as i can tell it looks identical to the one i have in my hand. It would still be worth and email or call to verify.
