It's great that the people who have the house now gave you access. there are some incredible people here.
Vulcan is still standing- or should a say standing again. He was taken down a few years ago to be refurbished, he was rusty and falling apart. While the statue was down they set up a thing where blind kids could climb around on parts of it, so that they could experience vulcan too. He's up again, but with an arrow in his hand rather than lights.
Vulcan is this huge iron statue that used have a light in his outstretched arm. If the light was red it meant there'd been a traffic fatality that day, green was a good day on the road.

I was under the impression that the lights referred to the Mines. I guess at some point after the mines closed, the light's meaning changed to Traffic.
