Here
So Snails, how goes it? I've been the snailiest of all I do believe. You all are roadrunners.

Had a lot of slugs and snails around here this year. Also had a lot of daddy long legs. And of course ANTS. Oh so many ants. But I suppose on the plus of all the undesirables there was an abundance of frogs and toads! And many of the frogs are still out and about. I think the toads have decided to retire, since it can get rather chilly at night.

Oh, and praying mantises! I found a bunch of babies, and then I finally found a big buddy. It was probably a male, who I guess got lucky and wasn't beheaded after bow chicka wow wow. He somehow got into the garage, and he was alive when first saw him, but then a few weeks later I found him dead on the floor. Earlier I in the summer I went wild with the pyrethrum or whatever it was, along with the DE, so perhaps one of those got the better of him. He wasn't covered in white, so I guess it was the chemicals. Unless he tried attacking one of those stupid giant wolf spiders I've been finding around, cuz perhaps they might've poisoned him.

While gardening I found a big ole giant grub, and since he was so huge I wanted to show my mom. So I put him into a little clear container for later. Than came a hornet right nearby, and he trapped him too in the container. The big giant grub and the hornet had a fight, and guess who won? The big grub! The hornet kept stinging and stinging, but that grub didn't seem affected and instead the hornet succumbed to the giant choppers on that grubby grub. He didn't eat it or anything, but just did what he had to do to survive. Too bad he eventually had to die too, since they damage the plants.

I also trapped this HUMONGOUS spider, it must've been a wolf spider, but at the time it was just SO GIANT like nothing I'd ever seen in the wild before. I had to trap it so that it wouldn't kill me, but also I wanted to show my mom in person since she never believes me when I tell her about how giant a spider was since she thinks I exaggerate because I'm so terrified of them. Anyway, this giant spider turned out to be pregnant, because within a few hours she was suddenly like a quarter of the size she used to be, and was sitting atop a little nest she magically created on the side of the bottle I put her in.

The bottle was a plastic reusable water bottle I had stupidly stored goat milk in, which then went sour, and of course the bottle still smells despite being soaked in everything under the sun. So, it was just going to be an outside container then for whatever I needed. Anyway, the mama spider was trapped in there, and I felt bad for her, so I opened the bottle up and put her in the woods. I really don't want more spiders around, especially those scary giant wolf spiders, but like I said, I felt bad for potentially murdering a mother and her hundreds of babies. I walked down the right-of-way and put the bottle in the drainage ditch across the road. Maybe I'll take a walk today and see if she's still there. Haven't had any heavy rains to wash the bottle away, and it's not like anyone would want to steal a smelly bottle especially if it had a giant spider nest in it.

And it's the writing of spider nest that has finally spurred the anxiety associated with spiders in me so I'll stop this blabbering and try my best to stop thinking of spiders. ARG! THEY'RE IN MY BRAIN NOW! AHHHHH! GET THEM OUT GET THEM OUT GET THEM OUT!!!

Think of cute little froggies. Oh they're so cute.

Hey, Haze! Nice find! TY

I like that sigelei because it's small and cheaper...

NSA? I thought our posts in the Snails were considered non-essential and are not being monitored during the shutdown. ;)

But who knows? I have no idea what I want to rebuild... I'm just pondering the possibilities. I still can't tell the difference between the RBA, rda, RSST and such. And what the heck is a hybrid atty????

RBA - Re-Buildable Atomizer (generic term)
RDA - Re-buildable Dripping Atomizer (specific for those RBAs that don't include a tank)
RSST - A specific genesis-style atomizer - comes with a polypropylene tank (SMOKTech RSST Rebuildable Atomizer)

Hybrid atty? - not sure on this one; there are hybrid PVs - a mechanical PV (usually) that has an integrated genesis-style atty. IIRC, on some hybrids you can remove the atty on others it is actually part of the PV.

Oh, my sweet Atty! Thank you so much for the offer! You're too kind.

However, I do have a regular multimeter, but it's such a production every time I need to test a silly coil. And I have two mods that read ohms... The problem is that I like to check my atties often, when they arrive and after I clean them, for instance, and I don't want to put dry atties on my APVs because, as you know, in order to read the ohms, those mods need to fire the atomizer for a short time so I don't want to take the risk of damaging it.

I would like to be able to just screw the thing onto the meter and be done with it--one hand operation. :) As opposed to two hands and two knees with the traditional multimeter.

I always test the ohms on my Kanger rebuilt heads with my Vamo. The current passing through the coil for resistance measurements is very small and won't negatively effect the atty.
